Could Jesus Return to Earth through Artificial Intelligence?

In an interview with podcast host, Joe Rogan, it was proposed that Jesus Christ may return to earth through Artificial Intelligence (AI). The interview was aired on the American Alchemy podcast, where Rogan gave his views on the future of AI and aliens. During the conversation with Jesse Michels entitled, “Joe Rogan, the truth about aliens (he finally says it)”, Rogan explained that “Jesus was born out of a virgin mother, what’s more virgin than a computer?” He also appeared to compare software to the virgin birth of Christ, referring to how AI enables computers to generate data without physical reproduction.

Rogan’s comments seem to be vaguely reasonable and somewhat metaphysical. For some, what he said may even be intriguing. But for me, his comments fell on deaf ears. In no way would I compare Jesus Christ to AI. First and foremost, AI is known as Artificial Intelligence for a reason. It is not a conscious being, rather it is artificial as its name connotes. The knowledge that AI acquires is based on the information humans feed it. On the other hand, Jesus Christ is Supreme Intelligence. He is the Living Source from which all knowledge springs. I do not believe that Jesus will use AI to return to earth because He does not need it to do something that He will do Himself. Technology is subject to Jesus, not the other way around.

God has given us the free will to use technology for the betterment of society. I honestly think that rather than focusing on how Jesus will return, we should prepare for Him by doing what is good according to His Will. Unlike Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, we are limited in our thinking. Our unbelief in Christ makes us suspectable to false doctrines that cloud our judgment. Even our thoughts can deceive us. This is why praying and meditating on God’s Word is so important. We should not be fooled by what we think is true. Rather, we must be convinced by what we know to be true. Jesus professed to be the Truth, and I wholeheartedly believe in Him.

Unlike technology, God is eternal and unlimited. His existence is not subject to time and space. Artificial Intelligence is a limited vehicle that is driven by human creativity and reason. It is not omnipotent and omnipresent as God. When we compare or equate God to AI, we limit His power and depth. God is beyond our feeble mind. For me, I rather put my faith in God than technology. It would be wise for all of us to follow suit.

Ethically speaking,
